Wow, I didn't realize I've haven't written in so long. I've been soo busy with schoolwork and can't wait for classes to end in about a week. I have a huge fiber arts project that's due which is taking up most of my time, but I have managed to get a little crafting in. I'll post some pics next week once I have more time.

Busy Busy Busy

Wow, I guess I haven't written in quite a while. I feel like I've been busier than ever here at school. It's so different from last year. I remember having so much free time last year that I didn't know what to do with myself. This year I'm lucky if I get any free time for myself. My art classes have been keeping me busy, especially fiber arts. I feel like I should bring my sleeping bag and camp out in that room since I'm there so much. But, I really do love that class and the time that I'm in the studio passes quickly for me. We just finished dyeing fabric pieces last week. I decided to make mine a fall scene. Now we're working on quilted samplers with embroidery and applique. It may not sound that time consuming, but we have to dye all of the fabric for the quilt. Hopefully I'll get it done in time!

capes galore

So, I've finally gotten some time to knit and so far I've finished up 2 capes from the Rowan 38 magazine . The first cape is made with tweed and mohair and has a really great pattern of dashes all over it. The second is a red turtlenck with a diamond pattern going across it. I can't wait to finish both of them.

Oh, and sorry about the weird formatting ... still haven't figured out the whole picture formatting thing yet.

I haven't really had time to craft that much - it seems like within the last couple weeks, the workload at school has become a lot heavier. Although spending the last two weekends at home was great, I feel even more pressured with time. So, instead of posting some of my recent knitting that hasn't been progressing very much, I'll post a picture of my Rowan Butterfly from magazine 37 which I finished a few months ago. I'm pretty happy with how it came out an wish the weather would stay warm for a few more weeks so I can wear it again.

1st blog entry

So, this is my first blog entry and I'm not quite sure what to say. I've always wanted a blog, and it's nice to finally have one. After going on Craftster, I got really inspired when I saw the knit aviator cap that was used for a 1920's halloween costume. So, I decided to make my own version of it. I added pearl beads to give the hat more of a vintage feel, and I think it came out pretty good!
